Heavy Duty Peristaltic Pump for Abrasive Sand and Silica Slurry

When sand slurry is prepared for a process it usually passes through a Vibratory Ball Mill. Vibratory ball mills are used for the grinding and mixing of sand slurry.

In this process hundreds of steel balls rotate within a sealed drum which contains perforations along its axis at set sizes. When the slurry particles reach the required size, the sand and silica mixtures fall through the perforations within the drum making them suitable for the next stage in production.

Ventilation-based, fresh air cooling from EcoCooling can help you keep viruses at bay

With the arrival of winter, the management of ventilation inside buildings is more important than ever. We’ve known for some time that there is a risk of Covid-19 spreading via airborne transmission. Now the cooler weather has arrived, forcing windows and natural ventilation sources to close, it is something that workplaces need to address.

Why is ventilation so important?

The role of adequate ventilation in reducing the spread of Covid-19 has been stressed by numerous professional bodies and government advisors. This is because, although the most common cause of transmission is through short-range droplets, long-range airborne transmission is possible and is a growing concern as we spend more time indoors.

Rittal’s VX25 Ri4Power Panels Delivers “Impressive” Solution for Renewable Energy Project

Rittal was approached by Powerfish, a Scottish-based panel builder and electrical engineering business, with a brief to design and deliver robust, flexible, and easy-to-install panels for a renewable energy customer.

All the consultations, as well as the design work on the panels, were done remotely, in accordance with COVID-19 restrictions.

The copper connections were created in-house from drawings produced by Rittal’s online configurator, saving the client both time and money.

The project was turned around quickly while still maintaining Rittal’s high standards across engineering and customer service.

New Lanemark Process Gas Burner Installations Bring Clear Gains To Dumper Truck Manufacturing

The latest process gas burner technology from Lanemark Combustion Engineering Ltd. is now helping one of the country’s leading manufacturers of construction equipment to benefit from optimised energy usage and minimised emissions.

Warwickshire-based Thwaites Ltd., who provide a wide range of dumper truck designs particularly to the construction industry, have replaced two well-proven existing Lanemark FD5EP-3 burner installations with the company’s latest force-draught gas and air FD5GAP-3 models.  The result is a combination of excellent heat control and an anticipated, significant saving in gas usage.

Riello’s premix burners up to 3MW

Riello RX premix packaged burners are available in outputs up to 3MW, offering NOx levels of less than 40mg/kWh, with high turndown ratios of up to 8:1.

The main differences between traditional pressure jet burners and premix burners relate to the ways in which the air and gas is mixed and in the technology of the combustion head.

In traditional pressure jet burners, the gas and the combustion air are mixed at the point of ignition on the end of the combustion head in the space available in the combustion chamber (diffusive flame).

Fulton takes a look at technical boiler house risk assessments

In this article, Fulton’s aftercare and business development manager Jeff Byrne takes a look at technical boiler house risk assessments, from their legalities to the potential savings that can be achieved.

It is strongly advised that all companies with a steam boiler have a technical risk assessment in place for its boilers and boiler house. It is required by law under the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and is necessary to comply with the requirements of SAFed document BG01, HSE INDG 436 and HSE INDG 417 Rev1, under which steam or hot water plant should be operated.
