One spill removal solution for all floors

Read the case study from a cinema group, and find out how to quickly remove spills from various floor types with an eco-friendly, and highly efficient solution from Brady Corporation.

The cinema group needed a clean and efficient solution to remove various small spills in cinemas, both behind the scenes and in publicly accessible areas. Between shows, every spill from soda, sauce or other food & beverage products needs to disappear to welcome the next group of customers coming in for a great movie experience.

The clay-based granulate the cinema group was using created too much dust and proved too messy, even for behind the scenes areas, if not applied and removed immediately. In most of the publicly accessible areas, it was not even an option, as the risk of staining carpet floors with the clay granulate was just too high.

Solution: Fast and clean spill removal

Brady Corporation proposed its eco-friendly SpillFix granular that can safely be used to remove spills from the most porous or uneven surfaces, including carpet.

SpillFix is a 100% natural product made out of coconut coir. Thanks to its lightweight honeycomb structure, SpillFix immediately starts absorbing any liquid.

On top of this, 2.8 kg of SpillFix can absorb the same spill volume as 22.5 kg of clay based granular, so a lot less product is needed to achieve better results.

Unlike many clay-based granulars, SpillFix does not leave any slick residue behind and can be mopped up with a few swift swipes.

Results: Efficient spill removal between shows

The cinema group can now remove spills from sodas, sauces or other food & beverage products in a much more efficient way. SpillFix can simply be poured on any spill and vacuumed when dry shortly after, no matter whether the spill occurred on a linoleum or carpet floor.

How to combat spills effectively

Brady’s Spill control guide book offers ideas on how to prepare for potential spills and what to do in case of a spill. The guide also includes a number of solutions that can be deployed to prevent spills from spreading and to remove spills.

The importance of compressed air leek detection using the FLIR Si124-LD

Every business wants to run as efficiently as possible, for both environmental and commercial reasons too. With over-arching global challenges such as working towards a net-zero existence, and increased competition it is vital to be as effective and cost efficient as possible.

Compressed air systems are one area of production, process and manufacturing where efficiencies can be made, as typically there will be multiple leaks on any compressed air system. Even the most efficient system will develop leaks over time through repeated usage, wear-and-tear, and component degradation. Air leaks ultimately lead to compressors being ran for longer than necessary, or additional compressors being installed to keep-up with the leaking air demand.

Compounding the impact of these inefficiencies is the cost of energy which is at an all-time high, so not only are compressed air systems wasting energy, but they are costing significant amounts of money too, ultimately impacting the profitability of businesses, products and services.

Compressed air leak detection is nothing new, with various types of equipment traditionally being used to find leaks to varying degrees of success however, the FLIR Si124-LD acoustic imaging camera has set new standards in the ease of use, the accuracy of leak detection and the simplicity of reporting too.

Using 124 built-in microphones to produce a precise image which is overlaid in real time on a digital camera picture, the user can pinpoint a leak, capture an image or short video, and connect wirelessly to reporting software to record the location, severity and associated details.

Compared to traditional air leak detection methods, the Si124-LD can detect leaks up to 10 times faster, leaving more time available to fully seal leaks, saving time, reducing operating expenses and minimising energy

Celebrating 30 Years of Fluke Networks with huge savings on fibre testers

To celebrate 30 years at the forefront of network infrastructure testing, industry pioneer Fluke Networks is offering customers up to 30% savings on 30 of their most popular fibre testers.

Eindhoven, Netherlands. March 1st, 2022: Fluke Networks launched its first tester in 1992, sticking to what professionals had come to expect from Fluke—a rugged, reliable, and portable tester with advanced measurement capabilities. The company will celebrate by giving new and returning customers a deal on 30 of their most popular fibre products.

How it started

In May 1992, Fluke leaders set a mandate to a small internal team to find a new business opportunity. The team was given 100 days and $100,000 along with the authority to employ anyone in the company to help them in their efforts.

Soon, a team of about a dozen set out on their mission with a determined focus on the communications market, specifically, Local Area Networks. Fluke Networks’ first cable tester launched in December 1992.

In celebration of Fluke Networks being trusted in the field since 1992, it is offering all customers up to 30% discount on 30 popular fibre testing products.

Today’s Increased demand

Fibre optic cabling is increasingly preferred in the marketplace for use with innovative technologies and is the core of today’s datacom networks as demand for bandwidth increases. As network installation accelerates, the need for fibre testing and certification has also grown at a substantial rate. Fibre certification tests per TIA/EIA or ISO/IEC standards, when installing or upgrading fibre networks, are the best way to prevent problems.

Professional Network Tools Anyone Can Use

Rugged, accurate, and easy to use, Fluke Networks fibre tools have been the go-to for network cabling installers, architects, technicians and engineers since 1992.

Fluke fibre testers provide network professionals with the ability to reduce the time spent identifying the root cause of a fibre problem allowing them to be more profitable. Contaminated connections remain the number one cause of fibre related failures in data centres, campus, and other enterprise or telecom networking environments. Fluke fibre testers measure fibre length and optical loss, provide an instant PASS or FAIL indication, troubleshoot problems in fibre connections or help inspect fibre cabling to locate contamination.

Delivering value

In 2013, Fluke Networks introduced a revolutionary product that reduced cabling installation and maintenance costs by 65%: the Versiv™ Cabling Certification System. Cabling infrastructure market leaders in the UK, Redstone, almost upon availability upgraded their fleet to Versiv™ from the DTX and reported great efficiencies for their installation and maintenance technicians. Roger Stevenson, Service Director at Redstone at the time reported, “One of the best features is ProjX™ which allows infrastructure installation teams to manage test lists with ease, beyond that it shows our customers that we invest in the best tool sets to deliver for their network”. It’s future-ready design supports copper certification, fibre loss, OTDR testing and as well as fibre-optic inspection. In recent years Versiv has been enhanced with Cat.8 measurement capability, a High Dynamic Range (HDR) OTDR and a MPO Fibre Inspection Camera.

Robert Luijten, Field Marketing Manager EMEA at Fluke Networks has been with the company for 25 years: “I have worked at Fluke Networks since the entrepreneurial early days, through to the established player we are today. Customers love what our products can do for them, and I am proud to represent a company that delivers value for its customers this way. Fluke Networks has delved deep into the intricacies of fibre-optic networks systems, to develop fibre inspection products for professionals with ease-of-use and accuracy at the heart of their design.”
